It’s twice in a row now for BFC Laboratories, the makers of Cosmo Skin; as the newly-crowned Miss World Philippines is also this year’s Ms. Cosmo Skin.  It was surely a pleasant surprise for the makers of the bestselling brand, as last year’s winner, Laura Lehman, was also crowned Ms. Cosmo Skin,  just minutes after she was ultimately chosen as the country’s Miss World representative. This year was no different as the comely model, Katarina Rodriguez also gained the same distinction in the coronation night held at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

“Those who don’t believe that whoever is judged Ms. Cosmo Skin will also become Miss World Philippines, will surely have no second thoughts from now on,” says Nino Bautista, the director and co-founder of BFC Laboratories.  “It is clear from now on that once you’ve been chosen Ms. Cosmo Skin, the chances of being judged  Miss World  is by now a given.” says Red Gatus, also director and co-founder of BFC Laboratories.

There’s also the beauty and confidence factor, however, he says.  “Even from the start of the pageant, Katarina already exuded the aura of a beauty queen—confident, self-assured and with flawless skin, which are all the qualities we expect from someone who can best represent the brand.

says Nino Bautista.

Aside from the pulchritude and flawless skin though, Katarina also impressed the audience with her answer to the much anticipated Question and Answer portion wherein the would-be beauty queen expressed her views on beauty pageants and what is perceived as exploitation.  Says Katarina:  “One should live by example and not by opinion and I would like to admit. I was one of those before until I learned more about beauty pageants are about.  One thing I can tell you is that you may think this very competitive, but in fact, you’ll understand beauty pageants when you know that it is actually not competitive towards other women, it’s competitive towards yourself, and it’s all about women empowerment and you can feel that in this group of girls, each girl knows that we are all individually beautiful.”

The said question impressed the judges, who coincidentally also included present endorsers and ambassadors of BFC Laboratories and Cosmo Skin, including mixed martial artist Mark Mugen, Cosmo Skin GSE Dark Spot Corrector endorser, Ara Arrida; Euphoriamaxx Best Bodies’ Kiko Estrada, former Euphoriamaxx Ambassador David Semerad and last but not the least “I Am” Cosmo Skin” endorser and former Ms. World International titleholder, Megan Young.

As expected, Katarina will also represent the Cosmo Skin brand during her year-long reign, but not before she competes in the Miss World 2018 pageant to be held in China later this year.

Rouding-off  BFC and Cosmo Skin-led contigent during the night were hosts Laura Lehman (Ms. Cosmo Skin 2017) and former Cosmo Skin Brand Endorser and herself a legendary beauty queen, Ruffa Gutierrez. “We are happy to welcome Ms. Katarina Rodriguez in the Cosmo Skin and BFC Laboratories family.  We are confident that she will bring honor and remind the world that the Filipina beauty—the same with the truly Philippine-made brand, Cosmo Skin are truly world-class.”
